Simon Pagenaud: "The 2020 season is off to a strong start! »
The 2020 pre-season IndyCar test took place on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week at the Circuit Of The Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas. Bad weather somewhat disrupted Tuesday's session but the 27 drivers in 25 cars were still able to complete a total of 1497 laps.
Last year's Indy 500 winner, Simon Pagenaud in Team Penske's No. 22 car, posted the 6th fastest time of 1:47.55. He completed a total of 66 laps.
At the end of the test, the French driver said: "This was an excellent pre-season test. I had a good feeling and we were able to do everything we planned. The aeroscreen works fine and gives good results in both visibility and aeration. Obviously, it changes the behavior of the car but this test allowed us to adapt as required. The 2020 season is off to a strong start!”
The first race of the 2020 season will take place in St Petersburg, Florida, on Sunday, March 15 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
